Moving back home

Dear friends,

It has been already almost three years since we decided to move to Boulder for Rolando’s graduate studies at the University of Colorado. It’s hard to believe that we are already preparing for our transition back to Peru! It is amazing to recognize the power of God at the end of this journey.

Recently, Rolando successfully defended his thesis on the public participation of evangelical movements in Peru. The members of the committee unanimously approved his defense! On December 17th, Rolando’s graduation ceremony was one of the most meaningful moments of this challenging process, during which God has allowed us not only to have a rich experience as a result of this special academic training, but also to confirm our calling to serve the Kingdom of God in Latin America.

Everything that God has done for and in us during this time has been incredible. But the most important aspect of these accomplishments is the fact that it has been a collective effort, and each of you has played a most meaningful role in this extremely challenging journey.

As this chapter ends in Boulder and we look to the future of our ministry for the upcoming years in Latin America, we realize that without your support, prayers, and encouraging love, it would have been impossible to reach this goal. Thank you so much for being instruments of God, both for enriching our lives and for teaching and encouraging us to learn to love the Lord and believe in His power.

We are excited to serve Him in the upcoming years through our new ministry affiliated with Paz y Esperanza (Peace and Hope Association), a Christian organization devoted to ministry in social action. Rolando will coordinate a consulting service that provides training to Christian networks and organizations in different Latin American countries. Flor will also coordinate in the same organization, but in a volunteering program devoted to help Christian groups that are interested in hosting short-term missionary trips.

Once again, thank you so much for accompanying us on this journey! We were blessed by each hand extended in solidarity, your powerful prayers, and by your warm embraces. This is our best Christmas gift!

May this Season bring you the true meaning of Christmas,

Rolo, Flor & Lissette
